there's an interstate town in western montana. it's less than 1000 yards long, and about two blocks deep. on one side of the highway are gas stations, fast food restaurants, 2 hotels and an antique mall.
on the other are a trailer court and some cheap apartments. the people who work on one side of town live on the other. it's 12 miles west of bozeman, out in the middle of nowhere. it serves no purpose, it has no logical reason for being. yet it's there.
i've been in this hotel room now for 6 hours, wasting my life and my brain cells watching tv. insomnia. i wish i was drunk. i wish you were here so i could talk to you. i need something to do, someone to talk to. someone to tell me i'm not alone.
i've felt alone before, but not like this. 1000 miles from home in a hotel on my king-sized bed wishing i had someone to wrap my arms around. do you know the perfect hand placement for a man when he and a woman spoon? man behind, lower arm crooked so she can use it as a pillow. upper arm wrapped around, held in the woman's hand between her breasts, over her heart.
i don't need a lover tonight. i don't need to get off. i don't need sensuous things. i need a woman, that's true, but i need a mother. i need reasurance. i need someone to say, "ssshhh, i'm here, just go to sleep.

Nice, Dano. I especially liked the emphasis on spooning and the placement of hands.

nice. really nice. i think that it can be added to, but you have a great start here. it makes me want to read more, sound svery personal (easy to develop a character from), and is generally really good.
